Natalia and her mom – MPH Photography – Toronto

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Lately, I’ve had a couple of mother daughter sessions and I have to say I love doing them. It’s so nice to capture a mother and daughter loving each other and loving life and immortalizing that forever on print. Nothing could be better than a day with mom, and then having the pictures to look back upon years later is a treasure in my books. All I know is that these types of sessions has made me want to do one for me and my mom, and I also think its a great way of telling mom how much you love her, and a small thank you for always being there and loving us unconditionally.

I met up with these two lovely ladies on a very windy morning and yet they didn’t let that stop them, they were determined to have fun and enjoy their surroundings. Natalia moved here a few years ago and her mother Marina came for a visit from Russia, she didn’t speak any english, but we got along wonderfully despite it.

We had such a nice time together and Marina’s expression after seeing a few shots that I took of her daughter Natalia was priceless, you could tell how proud Marina is of her daughter.  I loved capturing their relationship on film, it was fun to watch them talk and just be with each other.

I hope that you enjoy your sneak peek ladies, it was great meeting you both and watching you interact with each other, I had so much fun with you ladies, and Marina I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay here in Toronto and I wish you a safe trip back to Russia and I hope you come back soon.

Susan’s Maternity session – MPH Photography – Toronto

Monday, September 12th, 2011

I met Susan when I did headshots for verity club members and staff and she was so cute and nice and when she told me she was pregnant and wanted to do a maternity session I got very excited as I love photographing women during this special times in their lives.

We met at a beautiful park in Mississauga and had so many beautiful spots to take pictures in and although it was a pretty hot day, we managed to stay in the shade and get some great captures and at the end we told them to get into a little stream that we found in the park and I think that was the best part as they got to cool off a bit, lol.

They are expecting a little girl, a future hockey player, so we had to do a shot or two with the skates and hockey stick that were bought for this little girl and in a matter of a few weeks this little precious soul will be here and I get to go meet her and do a newborn session with her.

For now, here is the sneak peek from this session. Thanks guys for making it a fun time and we can’t wait to meet your little girl in a few weeks.

Our cottage – MPH Photography – Toronto

Thursday, August 11th, 2011

For years my husband has been looking and talking about purchasing a cottage,  a place away from the city with a little beach so that the boys can run around and swim and have fun at. Well, I’m happy to say that we found that place this year and in May we purchased it and we have had the most fun this summer and I tear up thinking of all the memories we have created just from one short season.

For years to come we’ll be roasting marshmallows and swimming in the river as well as fishing and bbqing and inviting friends up to enjoy a day or two away from all the hustle and bustle. It’s located near Campbellford, on the crowe river and we can’t wait to pack up our stuff almost every other weekend and head out to the cottage. I even had to reschedule a few sessions to get a few more weeks worth of going to the cottage, the summer goes by so fast and this is the busy time of year with sessions, so it was quite hard figuring out when we could go. I’m wishing we bought a cottage years ago but the boys are still young and I think this was the best year of their lives so far. I’m so looking forward to many more years of enjoying cottage life and building beautiful memories with my family there.

Besides our little beach, that happens to be quite shallow for the most part and nice and warm in the summer, we found a gorgeous new spot just minutes away and it has miniature falls along with a calm little area to swim in above the falls, its just the most awesome place. The boys fell in love and so did our guests and I’m so glad I brought the camera up to take some pics of this place and the time we spent together.  I could barely wait to put up some pics, but it took me a long time to go through them all, lol. So here is our cottage, we went up with a few close friends and we fished, swam, had a foam party and ate like kings and really had such a wonderful time. We are actually sad that its already August and realistically we can only go up a few more times, and I’m already planning next year’s itinerary for the summer months, lol.

Here’s a few images from our home away from home.

Indian Bridal – MPH Photography – Toronto

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

What do you get when you combine a beautiful model and a truly talented and amazing hair and makeup artist?? A perfect shoot! I was so happy to photograph Angeli  in a couple of Indian bridal outfits, I just love the colours and its like photographing jewels. Angeli wore two spectacular outfits and then Mrs. C, our hair and makeup artist from surekha artistry dressed up for the occasion and I took a few shots of her as well who is also beautiful as she is talented.

It’s so much fun working with other creative people and this was a wonderful session and I loved every minute of it.

I have so many favourites, so here’s tons of images from our fun day. Special thanks go out to Angeli and to Mrs. C.

Baby S – MPH Photography – Toronto

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Sugar and spice and everything nice, that’s what little girls are made of, and this little beauty is tons of sugar and a touch of spice. She’s so sweet that you just want to eat her up and yet she has this little spark, a touch of spice if you will. I’ve actually known this little angel’s mom since I was a little girl and I remember her being so cute and adorable and she passed that on to her daughter now.  Her father is the pastor of the greek evangelical church in Toronto and he actually married us in 1999 so this session was very special to me.

Even though we didn’t get as many smiles as I wanted to from this little one, I couldn’t take a bad picture of this beauty, with her cute rosy cheeks, and big bright eyes,  even the ones of her not smiling are adorable as can be. Each outfit we put on her was adorably sweet and I couldn’t stop snapping away, she’s definitely a photogenic child.

Thanks for coming by the studio Ruthann, it was such a thrill to photograph your daughter and to capture these moments when she is still so small. I hope you enjoy the sneak peek.
