Maureen and Ervin and their boys – MPH Photography – Toronto

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

When Maureen and Ervin first contacted me and set up this family session, they told me their sons, Nicholas 17 and Andrew 14 would also join them in the session and that’s when panic set in. I have photographed every age and both male and female, but never 2 teenage boys together. Now, I have 2 boys of my own, 8 and 5 and so I’m no stranger to boys but I wasn’t sure how I was going to photograph these two youngens. What poses do I put them in that is cool and that they will like, and will they behave, or just not want to be there at all. How was I going to get them to have fun?

I worried for nothing because when I met this family and their boys, I was totally taken by surprised to see two very mature and polite boys. The whole family was nice, and such a pleasure to photograph. They were very well dressed and even though it was boiling hot out, they managed to smile through every shot. We really had a lovely time, and the boys had me laughing more than once and it was a wonderful session.

I realized that my boys have the same age difference and in a few years from now, they will be the ones that are going into highschool and then graduating and when the time comes for my family to get a session done, I hope its jut like that one I did for Maureen and Ervin and their boys.

To the Herold family, thanks again for coming out in the heat and for being so wonderful to work it. We hope you enjoy your sneak peek and hope you also have a wonderful summer.

Serena & Rob – Maternity – MPH Photography – Toronto

Monday, October 25th, 2010

I had two sessions scheduled this past Saturday and my clients are sister in laws and one was for a maternity and one was for an engagement shoot, the weather was suppose to be good but it didn`t quite work out that way.

On the way up to Brampton, the clouds started to gather and although the weather called for perhaps some rain later on that evening it was suppose to be nice and partly cloudy up until then. That wasn`t the case unfortunately and we spent most of the session praying for the rain to stop and not begin again, lol.

It didn`t rain too much thankfully and in between we got some wonderful shots. Serena is so beautiful and her little belly is so cute, I could barely see it in some shots, and her hubby Rob just kept making her laugh, as he effortlessly carried the basket full of clothing that they brought to change in. Both were up for anything and Serena walked in her heels up and down rough terrain with no problems, I was totally impressed. They told us that they walk their dogs in this park and can walk from home which can take 3 hrs, I don`t think I`ve ever walked for 3 hours anywhere, lol.

Despite the rain we had a fun session and it was a lovely location, fall is a great time of year to do a shoot and I could have stayed there all day if the weather was a bit better. Meaghan`s session was postponed and I`m glad we didn`t even try because it started to pour right after our session was over with Serena and Rob.

Can`t thank you guys enough, it was wonderful meeting you and I know that little guy is going to be one blessed little boy with parents like you, bet he`ll be a cutie too.

Enjoy your sneak peek Serena, and looking forward to our session soon Meaghan.

Mother & Daughter – MPH Photography – Toronto

Word of mouth is the back bone to my business. I photograph someone and they tell a friend and then that friend tells a friend and so on and so on. So when Mireille contacted me to do a photoshoot for her and her daughter because her daughter had seen her friends pics that I shot, I was thrilled.

We met up on a beautiful day and had a very nice session at the guild and since it was their first time there, there was much to see. It’s a great place just to go and take walks, and my family and I does that every so often and I feel at home when I do a session there as I know it so well. I try to shoot in different locations as much as possible but sometimes its nice to go somewhere that you are very familiar with. I could do tons of sessions there and get different shots each time, its great.

Mireille and Keisha were so adorable, loving mother and her little girl (ok, not so little), it was so sweet to capture them together. I know as a mom I’m usually behind the camera taking the pics and not often in front, but its so important to get in front of the camera, wether you are shy or for whatever reason, its important that our kids look back and see us in pics too. Yet another reason to do a session like this.

During our session I learned that Mireille is a french teacher and not only that she teaches at my son’s school, she teaches the older grades so they haven’t had the pleasure of having her teach them but my oldest got so excited to see that I had photographed a teacher from his school. I can tell that Mireille loves to teach and I’m looking forward to having her teach my boys french.

Merci beaucoup Mireille, it was a joy to photograph you and your daughter and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

Louise’s Family – Toronto – MPH Photography

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

Louise has and will always be one of my favourite clients, I did my first sunrise maternity shoot with her a couple of years back and those types of sessions have become one of my very favourites to do. She was perfect for the session and when we finally met at 6am in the morning I was so excited as I knew it was going to be a fantastic shoot and it was. I took some of my favourite images to date from that session and even have a canvas made of the image below and its stunning,  it hangs on my wall so that all can enjoy it.

So when Louise contacted me to do another session, this will be their 3rd, I was excited, her gorgeous self and her 3 beautiful daughters and her cute hubby too, what more could I ask for.  When I first saw her at the session, I didn’t expect it but I’m a sap and my emotions took over and it just brought me back to her first session, one that meant so much to me and I started to cry. I tried to compose myself, it took a few minutes but then we were good to go.

Since they live close to the beach and they like to take walks near there, we decided the beach was a perfect spot for them. It was the same place we did her maternity session as well.

Her girls are growing up so fast, they are such pretty young ladies, and the little one is so absolutely adorably cute that you could just eat her up.  I definitely wanted to pinch those lil cheeks, but I hated it when people would do that to me when I was a child so I refrained, lol. I did pull out the bubble gun which she loved along with the tutu’s and santa hats (which has become a tradition for them). We had a wonderful time and I always enjoy photographing this family, and all I can say is watch out Louise and Anthony, your girls are oh so pretty and I suspect you will have a long line up of guys outside your door in a few years, lol.

Thanks for doing it again with me Louise, love you, and thanks for all your constant support, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Enjoy your sneak peek hon.

This is from our first session together when Louise was pregnant.

The rest are from the session we just did a few days ago.

Thanks again Louise, and thank you to your hubby and your girls too! :)

Sarah’s Sunrise Maternity – Toronto – MPH Photography

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

I think this was my last sunrise maternity session of this year since the weather is getting colder and summer seems to be officially over now. I hate saying goodbye to summer, and wish that winter was only like a week or two long instead of what seems like forever, especially around February when you just can’t wait anymore for those hot and sunny days. We had a great summer though and ending it with Sarah was a perfect way to celebrate.

Getting up early is the only thing I don’t like about doing a sunrise maternity session but the images that we get every time are always beautiful and this was no different.

Sarah has a little belly, so I kept calling her that all day and although she was a bit afraid of getting on the rocks at the beach, she did it and I was so impressed that she would face her fear just for the shot, but I think she’ll be happy she did, I know I am,lol.

Sarah’s hubby and little 2 yr old girl where in the car trying to get a few last moments of rest while I photographed Sarah and when it was time for daddy and baby to come out and join us, little Miss L did not want to have her picture taken. With alot of affectionate playfulness and a lolli she started to warm up but didn’t want to be out of either her daddy’s or mommy’s arms, so we worked with it and below are some images for the day.

Sarah, thanks for being such a beautiful prego momma! It was so lovely to meet you and your family and I had a wonderful time with you, photographing you and trying to get your little one to smile for us,lol. We really enjoyed our time with you and your family and I hope you like the sneak peeks from our day together.
