8 Days old – MPH Photography – Toronto

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011

This has been the busiest week this year, from the moment we got back from our vacation at the cottage, it was go go go. We had 5 sessions this week, and one got posptoned until this coming Monday so I will have alot of sneak peeks coming up. I’m busy processing orders, wrapping prints and editing and trying to get the sneak peeks out as fast I can but with a family wedding and the boys about to start school, its been a bit overwhelming. I will do my best to take care of everyone as quickly as I can, but please be a little patient with me as I’m not finding enough hours in the day lately, lol.

So, we begin with Miles. We came home early from the cottage so that I could fit in little Miles who was 8 days old by the time we got back home and I knew we had to do the session within another day or so, and it definitely proved to be a good decision.

I met this lovely family at their home and although we didn’t get to do any outdoor shots cause it was a bit rainy out, it ended up being a great indoor session and alot of fun as well.

Big sister Maya, was so cute and such a good big sister, you could see that she loved her new little brother Miles. Miles was so sweet and adorable and he stole my heart. It’s always an honour to be asked to photograph a child’s first few days of life, and I treasure these sessions.

Emile and Denise it was a pleasure meeting your lovely family, thanks for allowing me to come into your home, and capture these special moments for you, it was a great session and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

Karla’s Family

Monday, May 30th, 2011

When Karla agreed that sunnyside would be our location for this session, I knew we would have a wonderful session there. After all, its where hubby and I had our wedding pictures taken some 12 years ago. It’s been and always will be one of my most favourite locations to shoot in. It has everything that you want, the beach, beautiful architecture and a lovely boardwalk and lots of trees and grass. Many great locations and with this family I could have stayed there all day photographing them.

After meeting Karla and her hubby Danny and their oh so cute lil boy Mateo, I pointed out the goose that was living in a planter near where we began our session. I was even more surprised when she stood up and revealed she was taking care of her eggs and I managed to take a shot right before she sat back down on them. It was a great way to start off this session.

We so enjoyed photographing Karla’s family and we laughed and talked and even though it looked like it may rain right before the session started, the rain thankfully stayed away.

Karla, thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your precious family, I hope you enjoyed your time with us and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

My baby turned 8 ! – MPH Photography – Toronto

Saturday, January 22nd, 2011

Its hard to believe that 8 years ago my sweet little baby boy was born, they really do grow up fast. I always wanted to be a mommy since I was a little girl and when I was blessed with a precious little boy, and held my little boys in my arms for the first time, I finally understood what being a mother meant. It’s like having a piece of your heart outside your body walking around, and you want to put bubble wrap all around them and cover their ears from bad words and cover their eyes from seeing things that a child shouldn’t. It’s like having your heart ripped from your body at the notion that something happened to your child, wether it be as simple as a paper cut, or getting lost in a mall, or worse, in my case, my oldest (when he was 2 1/2 yrs old) walked out of sunday school at church one day and we didn’t know it. Fortunately it didn’t take long before a nice police officer who found him on a bus a block or so away brought him back to the church but the scare that that gave me was like nothing I have ever felt before, for a split second my child was lost and it was if I was drowning and couldn’t breath, and there was nothing I could do but pray, and thank God nothing happened to him.

He’s my life, my joy, my little love, and I don’t know what I did before him but I know I can’t see my life without him and I sit and watch him while he sleeps and pray to God that He takes care of him (and his little brother too) and my heart just wants to burst with joy. The love of a child is just so pure and innocent and so sweet and when they hug and kiss you and squeeze you real tight, there is nothing like it in the world. Its a beautiful sunny day on the coldest day of winter, its the cherry on top of the sundae, its better than winning the lottery.

I’m so blessed to have my boys and with each year that passes, and they grow into young men, my heart fills with pride and joy and I know I will have to let them go one day, but for now I’m just going to hold them and play with them and cuddle with them and enjoy their childhood because they’ll be adults soon enough, but in my hear they will always be my babies.

Wishing my sweet little boy the happiest of birthdays and may this year be filled with lots of joy and laughter and excitement and may God bless you always my heart. Love you baby boy.

Here is a picture of the birthday boy.

And here is a picture or two of his awesome cake that was made by Nikki Cadorin Varganyi of Krazy Kakes  who is an awesome artist!!

and a picture of the kids at his birthday party.

On a sidenote, the day before George’s birthday, he was rough housing with his little brother and pushed him off the couch and Nikolaos bumped into another couch and got a black eye, fortunately he was ok, whew. Here is the Nik’s black eye.

Brother & Sister – MPH Photography – Toronto

Friday, December 24th, 2010

This is my 2nd session with Ori, she had a session done last year with her mom http://mphphotography.net/blog/2010/01/ori-sandra/ and this time she wanted to surprise her parents at Christmas with portraits of her and her siblings. Unfortunately her sister couldn’t make it down but I did get to meet her brother Nico and we had such a fun session with these two. Daring and wild, we went places where we shouldn’t have, but it was worth it as the images we got turned out great. Even though it was a bit chilly outside, we managed to keep warm going inside and out of the brickworks and barely even felt the cold at times.

This is definitely a great place for a session, as it offers all kinds of wonderful locations for shots, and its best to go when its not busy though. They even put in a skating rink there now and I can’t wait to go see it.

Ori and Nico were wonderful and between the laughter and the danger, lol, it was a session I won’t soon forget.

Thanks Ori and Nico for allowing me to be part of such a special Christmas present, I hope your family loves the shots as much as I do.

Sleeping Angel

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

I wanted to thank everyone for voting for me to win the photography workshop contest but unfortunately I did not win, :( guess it wasn’t meant to be and although I’m  sad and bummed cuz I REALLY wanted to go, I’m happy for the person that won and am extending my congratulations to her.

In the process of shooting the perfect shot for this contest, which took many hours and many tries, lol,  I managed to convince my kids to dress up and pose for me for hours on end, lol. We tried many things and if I had more time I would have done something more creative and would have put angel wings on my kids, cuz well, I just love me some angel wings and that’s my style so it would have been perfect. Since I didn’t use an angel shot, my oldest wanted a shot of himself sleeping and he wanted me to turn him into an angel and put him on some clouds sleeping…. now, how could I disappoint  my son??? Of course I obliged him and we took some shots of him pretending to sleep and below is my creation.

My sleeping angel.
