Melissa & Aaron Engagement session – MPH Photography – Toronto

September 8th, 2011

I have a long history with this bride to be. Her mother was one of my very first clients and the session was held at Dundurn Castle in Hamilton and it was and always will be one of my most favourite sessions ever. I met 4 lovely ladies that day, the youngest one Lily, stole my heart. Her older sister Mel was a cute and funny girl and I just fell in love with all of them.

I have done several sessions for them and this one was very special as Melissa is now older and engaged to her love and I was honoured and thrilled that they asked me to capture this special time in their lives.

It’s a funny story though as Aaron was planning a surprise proposal for Mel and had enlisted my help and I was all too excited to lend a helping hand. I was planning a photo shoot and Mel had emailed me with interest in being the model for this shoot and that’s when Aaron thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to propose to her, so he met me earlier that day to give me the 2 cards that he had lovingly made for Mel asking her to marry him with the plan that he was to drive her to the shoot happening that evening and as she was modelling for me, he would come up through the fountains and propose while we held up the cards. Well it started to rain as we got to the fountains in downtown Toronto at Dundas square, but there was still lots of people around and as I was waiting for everyone to show up, I kept thinking they wouldn’t see me. It kept getting later and later and the rain started coming down more when all of a sudden I got a text that Melissa wasn’t coming, she got cold feet and didn’t want to model in front of everyone around. I was crushed!!! If I could only see her, I would convince her to stay but she was in the car and there was no way for me to get a hold of her and convince her to do the shoot. Needless to say I was devastated and was so looking forward to this.  I found out later that he did propose to Mel, and she said yes and both were very happy so that’s all that mattered.

In the end though, it actually worked out as we set up another session with just the two of them at one of their favourite spots and it ended up being such an awesome session.

We met at Webster falls in Hamilton and I was not prepared for the terrain and I thought I had brought my running shoes but they weren’t in the trunk when I checked and I was forced to wear my sandals and let me just say that I’m so thankful that I did not slip or fall once. It was pretty treacherous but beautiful and well worth the steep climb down and then back up again. The waterfalls are gorgeous and it was a great place for a session, we had so much fun there and we really captured some beautiful shots of these two kids. You could see the love between them and it was so sweet and touching and I know their wedding day is going to be a really amazing day.

Thanks so much guys for hiring us to capture this momentous time in your lives and we absolutely can’t wait for your special day. Love you guys!!

Namita’s Family – MPH Photography – Toronto

September 8th, 2011

3 little girls in white dresses at the beach, what could be more perfect?

I met Namita and her family on what seemed to be the perfect day, nice and warm out and not too hot and it was great especially since we had to postpone our session a couple of times this year due to the weather, so it worked out well.

Their 3 little girls, are sooo cute and adorable and we had a very nice time together.

Namita and Himmat it was a pleasure meeting you and your family and thanks for being so patient and nice about changing dates a few times.  I think it was worth it and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

8 Days old – MPH Photography – Toronto

September 3rd, 2011

This has been the busiest week this year, from the moment we got back from our vacation at the cottage, it was go go go. We had 5 sessions this week, and one got posptoned until this coming Monday so I will have alot of sneak peeks coming up. I’m busy processing orders, wrapping prints and editing and trying to get the sneak peeks out as fast I can but with a family wedding and the boys about to start school, its been a bit overwhelming. I will do my best to take care of everyone as quickly as I can, but please be a little patient with me as I’m not finding enough hours in the day lately, lol.

So, we begin with Miles. We came home early from the cottage so that I could fit in little Miles who was 8 days old by the time we got back home and I knew we had to do the session within another day or so, and it definitely proved to be a good decision.

I met this lovely family at their home and although we didn’t get to do any outdoor shots cause it was a bit rainy out, it ended up being a great indoor session and alot of fun as well.

Big sister Maya, was so cute and such a good big sister, you could see that she loved her new little brother Miles. Miles was so sweet and adorable and he stole my heart. It’s always an honour to be asked to photograph a child’s first few days of life, and I treasure these sessions.

Emile and Denise it was a pleasure meeting your lovely family, thanks for allowing me to come into your home, and capture these special moments for you, it was a great session and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

Lisanne & Dan – MPH Photography – Toronto

September 1st, 2011

I could have photographed these two cuties all day long. We had such a blast, and they were up for anything and even surprised me with the things they were willing to do. I always encourage my couples to go as wild and crazy as they like, as it doesn’t only add to the photoshoot by making great photos, but it makes for a fun and memorable time as well. You can guarantee that Lisanne and Dan will be talking about their session for years to come, and how they eagerly went into the water and climbed rocks and got into bushes with lots of bugs and yet with each shot, they just kept smiling and you could tell they were really enjoying themselves, as were we photographing the two of them having so much fun.

Earlier that day it was not looking too good out but I knew that Lisanne and Dan drove from North bay and although we could postpone, it was not something I wanted to do. We pushed the session back a bit and by the time we drove to the beach, the clouds were clearing up and it turned out to be a perfect day, we even got a FULL rainbow and I was so excited to shoot them right in the middle of it, don’t think I’ll ever get a shot like that again.

These two are young and so much fun and it was a really awesome session, and there were so many images that I liked, it was definitely hard picking out my favourites, so here’s quite a few from that day.

Thanks for driving down to Toronto  Lisanne and Dan, it was definitely a session that I will always remember and cherish. Hope you enjoy the sneak peek guys.

Shameela’s Family – MPH Photography – Toronto

August 31st, 2011

They were calling for a storm but thankfully it didn’t hit Newmarket where we did this family session. It was a bit grey out and we had a bit of light rain on and off but it was nothing like what hit in Toronto. On the way back we saw floods, tons of trees down and lights out all over the place. Even our oldest (whose 8) called us worried that we were caught in the storm, I assured him we weren’t and then it totally cleared up after that, which was great for us as we had another shoot to do later that day.

Shameela’s family is so sweet, we were welcomed with open arms, and their youngest boy Deen, just gave me the biggest hug with the biggest smile, I didn’t want to let him go, and really all 4 children were so well behaved and so wonderful to photograph.

We had to work quickly though as we could see the dark skies closing in and it did start to rain more towards the end of the session. It worked out well though, and we got to meet this beautiful family and we had a really nice time with them, having fun, blowing bubbles and enjoying their backyard.

It was definitely a pleasure photographing your family Shameela, thank you for allowing us into your beautiful home and photographing your wonderful family,  and thanks for the piece of cake (my weekness) as well,  we hope you enjoy the sneak peek.
