Vee and Raf engagement session – MPH Photography – Toronto

Sunday, June 2nd, 2013

Did you ever meet a couple that when you first saw them, you knew they were meant to be together, like they were made for each other. Well, besides hubby and I,lol, this is what I thought when I first met Vee and Raf. It’s almost as if they were the same person, with 2 distinct personalities, lol. The way they talk, and look at each other and even when they argue, you can see the love that they have for each other.

I was so excited to meet this couple on a cold day in November, as Vee  is my kind of girl, lol. She’s cute and funny and sweet and kind and a fashionista and beautiful inside and out and she loves feathers, I absolutely adore feathers, lol. We met at Cafe Frappe on the Danforth, and right away I knew they were a perfect fit and was excited at the prospect of photographing their wedding. We talked and laughed and connected and formed a bond that very first meeting.  As we planned their engagement session, I knew it was going to be hard waiting for months to photograph these two.

The day finally came though and we were off to photograph Vee and Raf in their beautiful home. Not only is their home beautiful, but they have a forest for a backyard that includes a beautiful private waterfall. It was so beautiful and although it took a bit of a trek to get there, it was well worth it, even with Chris falling 2-3 times, fortunately neither Chris nor his camera were hurt, lol. I wanted to stay there for the rest of the evening and even though we had planned on changing outfits a few times, it just seemed to fit that both of them were in white and surrounded by greenery and water falls and just beautiful landscape. It was the perfect place for an engagement session, and it was even more meaningful as this is the spot that they both love and go to all the time. They knew these woods and did daring things that I never expected them to do. They got behind the falls, and climbed big logs that were suspended off the ground, and sat close to edges of little cliffs, and Vee did it all in style while wearing a pair of gorgeous heels! I loved it!

Our bride to be also happened to appear on one of my fave shows, Keasha’s perfect dress on the slice channel, and of course that’s where Vee found her perfect dress. I loved watching this episode of Vee and I totally agree with the groom’s sister Joanna when she said Vee is a classy and sophisticated and sexy, that pretty much sums it up. Here is the link to that episode, but don’t send the link to her fiance Raf,lol. Actually Keasha and I have become friends thanks to Vee, but that’s another story and I hope to be posting images on my blog from my session with her and her family soon.

This is one wedding we are definitely looking forward to photographing, and we know its going to be a very special day filled with lots of joy and laughter and good times.

Thanks again Vee and Raf, it was so much fun hanging out with you and photographing you both in your own special secret escape, and next time, we’ll definitely come for a swim when the pool is ready.

Can’t wait for your wedding day!!!!

Joan and Max – MPH Photography – Toronto May 2013

Friday, May 24th, 2013

Joan was referred to me by a good friend and client Louise and I can’t thank Louise enough as it was such a pleasure meeting such an amazing woman. Joan has this aura about her, this je ne sais quoi about her. The kind of person you want to just listen to talk and learn everything you can from her. I could tell from our emails and conversations that this was one determined and strong woman and I couldn’t wait to meet her. Then she sent me a few pics of herself to show me some outfits she was considering and I knew the camera was going to love her as she’s a beautiful woman inside and out.

It was a nice day, a bit windy but much better than the weather has been, its still a bit cold for my liking lately and I’m waiting for the hot weather to get here, but for photo shoots, it was just about perfect.

I knew Joan wanted to get a few shots with her son as well and I knew he wasn’t going to stay long so we got to it and had some fun, made mother and son laugh and I think that Max may have enjoyed himself a little. Not sure, I’ll ask him later, lol. After he left we started photographing Joan in different outfits and I couldn’t stop snapping pictures, she is so statuesque and just so lovely, I didn’t want the session to end.

We had a grand time with Joan and her son Max, and I only hope that these images can truly show how beautiful this woman is.

Thanks Joan and Max, we hope you had a nice time with us and we hope even more that you enjoy the images we captured for you.

Danielle’s sunrise beach maternity session

Tuesday, May 14th, 2013

I have photographed Danielle several times, with her niece and then her wedding and now her pregnancy, and I couldn’t be happier for this couple. They opted not to find out what they are having, and I am in awe of that, to wait 9 months to find out is just amazing, I know I couldn’t do it, and didn’t 3 times, lol. I needed to know as soon as I could and for my 2nd I even went as far as to send in my blood to a lab to find out what I was having before my 18 week ultrasound, can you tell I’m not a very patient person, lol. Only a couple more weeks til Danielle and Dave’s baby lets us know what they are, and I can’t wait. I get to photograph this precious little soul and I’m  bursting with anticipation just waiting for this little one to arrive.

While we wait for this baby to be born, Danielle asked me to do a maternity session with her, and I couldn’t help but be thrilled. I knew she was up for anything, so of course I suggested a sunrise session, and she was up for it from the beginning.

Unfortunately when the day came, it was not only cold but the sun did’t really show up for us like it was suppose too, lol. We got a few shots with the sun but it was mostly a very cloudy day. Despite that, I think we got some gorgeous shots and I am so excited to post her sneak peek. Danielle is radiant and she is one of those woman that were made to be a mommy, she is such an amazing aunt and I know this child will be so blessed to have her and Dave as their parents. The love that these two share is so sweet, Dave even came with Danielle to the session that started at 5:30am, now that’s love. This baby is going to love their parents, and vice versa.

I have so many faves from this session and it was so hard to choose which to edit, but I finally decided on these, and just know there were so many more.

Thanks guys, it was such a pleasure photographing you both during this special time. I can’t wait to meet your little one Danielle, I will try my hardest not to cry from my joy when I come to do the newborn session with you and Dave and your new baby. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and we wish you guys all the happiness and joy in the world as you welcome this little one into your lives.  We love you guys.

BTW, my guess is that they are having a boy, what do you think?

Myrtle and her 4 cute and adorable kiddos – MPH Photography – Toronto

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

I met Myrtle when I was just a teen at the church we were attending back in the day and back then she was the cutest and nicest and sweetest little girl and now she’s still cute and still so nice and sweet and  she has 4 of the cutest and best behaved kids we’ve ever met. I was so excited when she emailed me that she wanted to book a session and I couldn’t say yes quick enough.

We set it up and the only thing that could have been better was the weather, as it was a bit cold and foggy and windy and grey out. Despite the weather, we went ahead and met at a favourite spot of theirs in Pickering and the kids didn’t let the weather faze them at all. They just cared about having fun and going to the beach and checking out the ducks and hopefully getting to ride on the swings for a bit. We did all that and then some and they continued to smile and have a great time during the whole session, even with their little red noses and teary eyes near the end, they still wanted to play some more. I could have taken them all home with me.

You can definitely tell that her kids love her and the bond that they have is strong and so endearing and it was just so much fun to capture them spending time together. I love capturing cherished moments and spontaneous smiles and loving affection between families and I love thinking that these images will be hanging on their walls for years to come, pieces of art that they can enjoy for a lifetime. To think that when they look at these precious images over the years, they will not only smile but remember that day as being special and remembering the feelings they shared and the memories they created as well. To give that to a family is a wonderful feeling and makes me love my job even more.

It was an honour and a pleasure seeing Myrtle again after so many years and photographing her and her kids and I would like to thank them for being so wonderful and cute and sweet and I really hope they all love the sneak peek below.

God bless you and your family Myrtle!!

The Friendly Photographer

Friday, January 13th, 2012

Just want to wish everyone a Happy new year. This year will be a little different for MPH Photography since we are having a baby girl in the beginning of May and I’m cutting down my sessions and only going to do a few every month, so for anyone who wants a session done this year, now is the time to contact me before all the spots are filled up.

In the meantime, I will be posting more about my family and my goal is to spend as much time as I can with them in 2012.

I have been meaning to post about a site that I love and have been featured on. The site was created by Emily Krbec, a fellow photographer friend of mine whose goal it is to celebrate and showcase fellow local photographers, she believes that us photographers should learn from each other and share our work, rather than be worried about who our competition is and I think she’s right. It would only make us stronger if we band together and join forces and share our work and our ideas and concepts and how we run our businesses and then we can all grow together and take photography to another level.

Here is a session I did with  Heather that was featured on their site:

and here is an image from that session as well. If you wish to check out the original post I made for my blog  just click here

I’m also honoured that one of my images is featured on their front page on the slideshow.

If you have a minute check her out,, and here is her personal work site as well
