Nicola’s Winter maternity session – MPH Photography – Toronto

Wednesday, February 5th, 2014

This session was so much fun, and I absolutely love it when a client is willing to do anything or go anywhere for that beautiful shot, it always pays off and the client is always happy that I suggested doing something that normally isn’t done.

Of course, when you think about it, why would any pregnant woman who is just about to give birth want to trek out into the cold and snow with hardly any clothes on, well actually, only the last shot is the one where the client is covered in a material and stands there for about 5-10 mins and then quickly changes back into their warm winter clothes, so its not really all that bad. 5-10 mins of being cold will get you a shot like the one you will see below and I think its absolutely stunning and gorgeous and when people see this image in my client’s home they will be talking about it and ooh’ing and aah’ing over it, so it will definitely be worth it.

I met Nicola years ago and she is so sweet and such a lovely person, we liked her immediately and when I heard she was pregnant, I was so excited for her and even more excited when she hired me to do her maternity session and then that she was willing to go out in the snow and do whatever she had to do to get that one amazing shot, made me so very happy.

I will also be photographing their little baby girl once she gets here, and I can’t wait for that session either. For now, here’s Nicola and her hubby Dan as they wait for their baby to arrive.

Thanks Nicola and Dan for allowing us to capture this special time in your lives. We can’t wait to meet your precious little girl when she gets here.  Enjoy your sneak peek.

Little Leo – Newborn session – MPH Photography – Toronto

Wednesday, June 26th, 2013

This was our 3rd session with Samara and her family and every time we do a session, it keeps getting better and better. Didn’t think we could top her maternity, that was a wonderful session but anything could then I think these precious pictures of her beautiful children, Stella and Leo would.

Newborn sessions usually tend to last 3-4 hours, or longer as we often have to wait for baby to fall back asleep and little Leo took a little time but he finally went down and let us take some beautiful shots of him and the whole family.

Big sister Stella was so helpful and such a darling little girl, her and her brother were so sweet, and I can see that Leo loves his big sister already and Stella is crazy about Leo.

We had such a lovely time with Samara and Ari and Stella and little Leo and it was wonderful to do another session with them, plus they booked a  package so we get to photograph them again in the near future, can’t wait to see how these little ones have grown and the relationship they are now just building.

Thanks Samara and Ari for allowing us into your home and for trusting us again this time with your precious little babies, it will be a session we will remember and not only because of the little gift he gave us during the session 😉 but also because you are such a wonderful and loving family and it was a pleasure photographing all of you again. Enjoy your sneak peek.

Sunrise maternity session at the beach – Toronto – MPH Photography

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013

Had a lovely time with Charlotte photographing her little belly this past weekend, had to keep telling her to stick it out because you couldn’t see it that much, lol.  It was a nice day although the sun did not show up for us again (although I did add some sun to the first image), but we still had fun and I’m loving the images that we got from our time together. Then her cute and adorable little boy came with papa and her little boy stole my heart. That smile and those big brown eyes and any lady would just die for those eyelashes. He wore this cute little bow tie and I couldn’t stop gushing over him, wanted to take him home after the session, lol. He was a little bit shy but full of smiles and just the cutest little thing. He is going to be one sweet and wonderful big brother to this little boy on the way.

Getting up at 4:30am to do a session like this is well worth it, as no one is at the beach at this time and we have the place all to ourselves and usually by the time we finish, the beach is packed, so although I hate getting up so early, its definitely the best time to do a session if you don’t want anyone else around.

Charlotte rocked it, she wore heels and looked stunning. I could have spent several more hours photographing her but she had a yoga class to go teach and we decided to wrap things up and I couldn’t wait to get home and start editing her images. It was hard to choose the ones I liked best though, as they were so many good shots and I hope she likes the ones I chose to edit.

Charlotte and Seth and Isaiah, thanks so much for coming out so early, it was so nice meeting you all and we hope you enjoyed your time with us and we also hope you love your sneak peek.

Danielle’s sunrise beach maternity session

Tuesday, May 14th, 2013

I have photographed Danielle several times, with her niece and then her wedding and now her pregnancy, and I couldn’t be happier for this couple. They opted not to find out what they are having, and I am in awe of that, to wait 9 months to find out is just amazing, I know I couldn’t do it, and didn’t 3 times, lol. I needed to know as soon as I could and for my 2nd I even went as far as to send in my blood to a lab to find out what I was having before my 18 week ultrasound, can you tell I’m not a very patient person, lol. Only a couple more weeks til Danielle and Dave’s baby lets us know what they are, and I can’t wait. I get to photograph this precious little soul and I’m  bursting with anticipation just waiting for this little one to arrive.

While we wait for this baby to be born, Danielle asked me to do a maternity session with her, and I couldn’t help but be thrilled. I knew she was up for anything, so of course I suggested a sunrise session, and she was up for it from the beginning.

Unfortunately when the day came, it was not only cold but the sun did’t really show up for us like it was suppose too, lol. We got a few shots with the sun but it was mostly a very cloudy day. Despite that, I think we got some gorgeous shots and I am so excited to post her sneak peek. Danielle is radiant and she is one of those woman that were made to be a mommy, she is such an amazing aunt and I know this child will be so blessed to have her and Dave as their parents. The love that these two share is so sweet, Dave even came with Danielle to the session that started at 5:30am, now that’s love. This baby is going to love their parents, and vice versa.

I have so many faves from this session and it was so hard to choose which to edit, but I finally decided on these, and just know there were so many more.

Thanks guys, it was such a pleasure photographing you both during this special time. I can’t wait to meet your little one Danielle, I will try my hardest not to cry from my joy when I come to do the newborn session with you and Dave and your new baby. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and we wish you guys all the happiness and joy in the world as you welcome this little one into your lives.  We love you guys.

BTW, my guess is that they are having a boy, what do you think?

Samara’s Sunrise beach maternity session

Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

I can’t tell you how much I love doing sessions like these, they don’t happen often, especially because you can pretty much only do this in the summer while its hot out, so you have to be due sometime between June-September. So when I get the opportunity to do a session like this, I jump on it. There is nothing that compares to a sunrise maternity session at the beach. The lighting and the silhouettes are amazing at this time of day. It’s definitely worth getting up at 4:30am to get there for 5:45 to catch the sunrise.

It’s even more exciting when I’m shooting a return client, and I had such a lovely time photographing this adorable family a few years back, that it made me giddy when she emailed me and told me she was having another baby and then we talked and she loved the idea of doing a sunrise session.

It’s been cold though, and spring has come late this year so I was a bit worried about the weather, but even though it was a bit cold it was still a beautiful day. We would have spent more time at the beach if it wasn’t so windy and I would have taken more shots of Miss Stella but the poor little thing was shivering from the cold, she even had to wear her mommy’s jacket (as you will see in the last image below), as she was just not warm enough with just hers, so we worked as quickly as possible and she was such a sweet little thing, smiling for me even though she was cold. All of them were perfect models and we had such a wonderful time photographing them again.

We captured some beautiful moments and I couldn’t wait to post a sneak peek from this session. There is so much love in this family, and I know this little boy that’s on the way, will be so very loved, and his big sister can’t wait to meet him. Samara is due in June and I wish them all the best as they welcome their newest addition to their sweet family.

Thanks so much Samara for getting up so early and being so brave and working through the cold, I hope you enjoyed your time with us and that you love these images as much as we do. We want to thank Ari and Miss Stella for coming out later on that morning as well and for being so awesome to work with, we really enjoyed photographing you all again.
