Samara’s Sunrise beach maternity session
I can’t tell you how much I love doing sessions like these, they don’t happen often, especially because you can pretty much only do this in the summer while its hot out, so you have to be due sometime between June-September. So when I get the opportunity to do a session like this, I jump on it. There is nothing that compares to a sunrise maternity session at the beach. The lighting and the silhouettes are amazing at this time of day. It’s definitely worth getting up at 4:30am to get there for 5:45 to catch the sunrise.
It’s even more exciting when I’m shooting a return client, and I had such a lovely time photographing this adorable family a few years back, that it made me giddy when she emailed me and told me she was having another baby and then we talked and she loved the idea of doing a sunrise session.
It’s been cold though, and spring has come late this year so I was a bit worried about the weather, but even though it was a bit cold it was still a beautiful day. We would have spent more time at the beach if it wasn’t so windy and I would have taken more shots of Miss Stella but the poor little thing was shivering from the cold, she even had to wear her mommy’s jacket (as you will see in the last image below), as she was just not warm enough with just hers, so we worked as quickly as possible and she was such a sweet little thing, smiling for me even though she was cold. All of them were perfect models and we had such a wonderful time photographing them again.
We captured some beautiful moments and I couldn’t wait to post a sneak peek from this session. There is so much love in this family, and I know this little boy that’s on the way, will be so very loved, and his big sister can’t wait to meet him. Samara is due in June and I wish them all the best as they welcome their newest addition to their sweet family.
Thanks so much Samara for getting up so early and being so brave and working through the cold, I hope you enjoyed your time with us and that you love these images as much as we do. We want to thank Ari and Miss Stella for coming out later on that morning as well and for being so awesome to work with, we really enjoyed photographing you all again.
